In April 2009, a small group of members who had experienced the loss of their partners were invited to Mike & Katrina Frost’s home to discuss ways in which support could be given to other members who found themselves in the same situation.
The group has been meeting on a regular basis throughout the summer, the result of which has been the creation of a “Care & Share” Team. The team consists of Ineke Butcher (Coordinator), Pat Ainsley (Secretary), Janet Hubbard, Joyce Pearson and Wendy Turner.
Our aim is simple: to be a “contact” during what is often a sad and difficult time; whilst family and friends are a tremendous support in the early stages, their help may not be so readily on hand as the months pass by, and we may be able to fill that gap. Having experienced loss ourselves, we may also have some of the answers to practical questions relating to bereavement, such as, for example, dealing with bank accounts, or transferring ownership of vehicles, etc.
Should you lose your partner, and need someone to
- talk to
- share a problem with
- ask for information
- need practical assistance

We believe that many members may be able to assist us with this project by offering help in one or more of the following areas:
- Transport
- Spanish interpretation
- Small maintenance tasks.
Having to cope with transport difficulties or not being able to speak the language,
just adds further problems at this stressful time, so if you feel you would like to
be involved, please email our secretary,
Pat Ainsley:

Please include your telephone and mobile numbers so that we can contact you if the need arises.
Should you have any questions or suggestions concerning the “Care & Share” Team,
