For many of the walks, we have produced maps and descriptions of these walks, sufficient (it is hoped) to allow you to do the walk yourself or with friends/relatives. You use this information at your own risk.
- There are Walk Guides that have step by step instructions of the route and how to find your way around it, along with a static road/terrain map.
- There are live Google Earth maps that allow you to zoom in and see more of the detail of the walk route and surrounding area.
Click on the Walk Guide button of your chosen walk and the description of the walk will be opened in a separate browser window. The Walk Guide is in PDF format. You need an Acrobat Reader installed on your PC (as you do to read the walk schedules).
Click on the Google Earth button of your chosen walk and a small Google Earth description file will be downloaded to your computer.
- You will be asked if you want to download this file and you should reply YES.
- Google Earth will automatically be started and the file loaded into it. You can scroll and zoom around the map as required.
- Once a walk has been downloaded you can make it permanent so that it is always available to you on your computer. You will be prompted on exiting from Google Earth.
(To use the Google Earth maps you must have the Google Earth application installed on your computer. If you want to install Google Earth go to Google Earth and follow the instructions there. It is free. You really need a broadband/ADSL link to use Google Earth. It is very slow via a dial-up connection.)
