CANCER CARE Jávea
Jávea U3A are pleased to announce that our nominated charity for 2012 will be
Cancer Care - Javea (Charity No 8270).
In conjunction with the Cancer Charity Centre Shop, all monies raised are donated to hospitals (equipment), research, patient care, and individuals, together with other cancer-related organisations.
As part of a research project called ECMOR, the charity have already purchased the latest machine that researches and individualises cancer diagnosis and treatment for each patient. This machine is to be placed in the oncology section at Denia Hospital.
The charity have further pledged to raise a further €20,000 – €30,000 a year for maintenance of this machine, and as our nominated charity, we hope to assist in raising some of this money for the benefit of every one needing such treatment.
We will be discussing how we can best help in this venture over the next few months and we are sure members will give as generously and support functions held on their behalf as they have in previous years.

Cancer Care Jávea
Our Charity for 2012, Cancer Care Jávea, are having an auction at the EL CID restaurant/hotel in Benidoleig on 18th May and they are desperate for items to auction, with all proceeds going to their charity. They are asking for the following items to sell:-
You can take items to the Cancer Care Boutique/Secondhand Dress shop in Jávea Park, any day Mon-Sat 10am-12.45pm and leave your donations.
Alternatively, Maggie McKenzie would be happy to collect any items.

CÁRITAS
You can leave food items and other items, such as clothes, furniture etc. for this charity at the Fisherman’s Church in the Port, Caritas Nuestra Sra. De Loreto, Calle Pio X11 9, Aduanas del Mar, telephone 965792220, mobile 619689311. They are open on a Monday from 1800-1930 hours. They suggest you bring tins of tuna, biscuits, cola cao and quesitos. You can also donate food and clothes in the Old Town – Cáritas de la Parroque de San Bartolome de Javea. They are open from 1600-1700 hours on a Monday.
The address is Carrer Llotgeta – in the little road next to Casa del Cultura.
