What’s Happening In Jávea
There is a free magazine called ‘El Magazine de Jávea’ which U3A members might like to pick up from various outlets in Jávea. It has English translations of its Spanish articles and is an excellent source of information about what is going on in Jávea.
Art Exhibition
There is an exhibition encompassing painters, sculptors, photographers, art galleries, art schools, shops selling fine art materials, customers and the general public. This is will be held nn the terraces of the new council offices (Avenida Amanecer 2) on top of the car park, from Saturday 28th Apil to Monday 1st May.
Please see these details from the Council.
Hosting Spanish Children
Javea U3A has been asked if members could possibly help with the hosting of Spanish children age about 13 during the months of July and August 2012. The period would be for 2 weeks and hosts will receive payment. The children will be mainly from Madrid but could be from other parts of Spain and the visits will be organised by local schools. The children will not need much entertaining as they will be at school during the week and at weekends they will be going on trips to places like Benidorm. Basically it is looking after them 5 evenings per week after school.
If you can help or would like to get involved, please email Krystyna Stefanczyk - kryspoland@yahoo.com who can give more details.

Javea Cultural Department
This autumn, the Town Hall will again offer various courses and classes to all residents. These are not free and there will be a subscription to pay, as the teachers are not "volunteers".
If anyone would like to offer their services as a Course leader or Teacher, they should contact Culture Dept.
Please see the Press Release from the council.
A list of courses to be offered be published here in September, so that members can then apply for places on those courses in which they are interested.
